NGCI Sign Lease Agreement with Heritage Family Services

The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) signed a 2-year lease agreement with Heritage Family Services (HFS) for a family placement on April 1st, 2019. NGCI purchased the Bear Paw Trading Post business, land and home on December 29th, 2017 and the home sat empty for over a year.   Heritage Family Services has a philosophy of keeping children in care close to their home community, the company has expanded to include facilities in both Rocky Mountain House, Ponoka and Wetaskiwin.  The company currently employs approximately 180 staff and cares for over 100 children on a daily basis.

The NGCI Board of Directors and Sundancer Team are thankful to all the companies who submitted LOI’s and proposals. ECN Leadership appoints Derek Bruno to the NGCI Board of Directors

NGCI take great pride with well planned strategies and more importantly, the execution of the strategy.  In the summer of 2018, Victor Buffalo opted to initiate the transition plan for an independent Board Member.   An independent Board Member is defined as a non citizen of the Ermineskin Cree Nation.  All Board members must have a high level of business acumen and First Nation governance experience. New Name and NGCI Management!

The “4 Band Building” also known as “Miyo Wahkohtowin Education Authority” has a new name.  The NGCI Board of Directors officially renamed the building on December 13th, 2018.  The building will now be known as:  “Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. Innovation and Professional Building.  A transition and development plan has been developed and will be executed by the VP of Operations Maureen Ward. The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) purchase a vertical farming franchise The new franchise is located in Leduc, Alberta and serves NGCI’s off reserve business development strategy.   With the acquisition of the franchise, NGCI creates three full time employment opportunities, increases net revenue stream and provides capacity development for future opportunities. The CEO officially paid the franchise fee on January 3rd, 2019.
