The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) signed a 2-year lease agreement with Heritage Family Services (HFS) for a family placement on April 1st, 2019. NGCI purchased the Bear Paw Trading Post business, land and home on December 29th, 2017 and the home sat empty for over a year.
Heritage Family Services has a philosophy of keeping children in care close to their home community, the company has expanded to include facilities in both Rocky Mountain House, Ponoka and Wetaskiwin. The company currently employs approximately 180 staff and cares for over 100 children on a daily basis.
