MASKWACIS, AB – The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mr. Errol Wilson, is the new General Manager of Niwihcihaw Acceptance Ltd (NAL), effective August 15, 2022.
Errol Wilson is Cree-Ojibway from the Peguis First Nation in Manitoba. Currently, he resides in Pigeon Lake, Alberta. Errol has a wealth of experience serving in corporate leadership roles and building First Nation clients’ capacity. Previously, his career had an extensive history of sustainable entrepreneur capacity development and financing, working for Aboriginal Financial Institutions.
Errol has an ICD.D designation through the Directors Education Program at the Rotman School of Business, an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the Alberta School of Business, and an Agriculture undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba. His life-long learning also includes certificates in Chairing Boards, Audit Committee Effectiveness, Not-For-Profit Governance Essentials, Indigenous Partnership Development, Public Sector Management, and Advanced Business Counselling. He currently serves on a few Boards within the corporate, trustee and educational sectors.
Errol enjoys outdoor activities in all seasons, such as cross-country skiing and recently taking up the game of golf. However, curling competitively has been a constant enjoyment for most of his life. He has also recently started to learn the Cree language to regain the essence of his Indigenous identity.
While NGCI have been providing support and direction for NAL over the past four years, the main objective was to seek a new General Manager who will ensure the responsibilities of proper support, leadership, accountability, and liability awareness are addressed. With a strategic plan and managerial work plan in place for one designated individual, NAL will have the full capacity to move forward in a direction of growth and sustainability.
With updated policies and strategic plan in place our new General Manager and staff will surely accomplish the goals set out in the next few years. On behalf of the NGCI Board of Directors, we are pleased to have Mr. Wilson join our team and look forward to his building on the strong foundation we already have at Niwihcihaw Acceptance Ltd.
