MASKWACIS, AB – The Neyaskweyahk Group of Companies Inc. (NGCI) and Niwihcihaw Acceptance Ltd. are pleased to welcome Mr. Clinton G. Roan as the new General Manager, effective November 3, 2021.
Clinton G. Roan is the newly appointed General Manager for Niwihcihaw Acceptance Ltd. Clinton is from Ermineskin Cree Nation, he is son of Marlene and Roger Noon, his maternal grandparents were late Lazarus and Emma Roan, and his paternal grandparents are Simon and Eliza Noon. Clinton lived in the Ermineskin Townsite majority of his life; but also, lived in Smallboy’s Camp, Thunderchild, Saskatchewan, and spent most of his time on the pow wow trail. Clinton dances Old Style Men’s Traditional.
Clinton graduated from Ponoka Composite High School and went to Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, BC. It was at TRU Clinton graduated and pertained his skills with Communication and Leadership, which he takes great pride in. And it was also at Thompson Rivers University Clinton had the opportunity to organize his first Round Dance and after that for the next 3 years.
As a young boy, Clinton sang customarily with the Pow Wow singers’ group “High Noon” and danced for the people in his Traditional “old style” Regalia. Clinton loves travelling on the Pow Wow trail, far and wide, especially with his wife and 7-year-old son who is of Chippewa Cree/Blackfoot & Shuswap decent.
Clinton’s message to the younger generation:
“Travel, see life outside, get your education and always be willing to try new things”.
